About Me
These are my first months on the couchsurfing website !
I am a 20-year-old student in anthropology (the social science of the societies and cultures in the world, for those for who this mysterious word doesn't mean anything...). I've been living most of time in Lyon for 3 years, but I sometimes go back to my home town for some weekends or holidays.
That might be why I really like both of city life and country one : city life for the cultural, artistic and intellectual bubbling, enjoying the endless list of events, going to theaters, exhibitions, spending nights with friends or with people that I just met in a generous host's home, in nice pubs, clubs or creepy places... ; country life for calm, better food, time to read books, to write, to think (a lot !), to walk around wide open spaces and watch a powerfull coloured sky that fills the body...
I studied anthropology , and I might have got a kind of anthropologist's virus, which is watching people, their movements, their way of communicating, their way of thinking, their tastes, and analyzing it, wondering where it can be from, what's not so different from and what is... Actually this takes the most part of my time. But this doesn't prevent me from being talkative.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travelled a lot as a child, now I enjoy it by myself. I love travelling on my own, since I'm free to every event, every opportunity, and it's on difficult to meet other backpackers or hosts.
Couchsurfing is a good way to meet people who have the same interests as me, at least having some time with foreigners. On a journey it's a good way to get opportunities too, and I prefer this rather planning everything on the internet.
Interests
Many things actually... I will talk about what seems to take the biggest part in my life :
Eating good food... Quite funny but I think this have been my most constant hobbie while growing. ) I have taken the habit of eating one traditional plate of every country I visit. As a French I like some typical creepy food, but my favourite food which comes rather from the Caribbean... I don't cook a lot for myself but I like to cook for people.
Theater... I acted in different companies and schools during a couple of years, for now I'm acting less. Anyway, I still love theater and go to see plays quite often.
Music, of course. I haven't played music for a long time, but I listen to music quite as much as I can, and I discovering new artists with new influence from abroad (Africa currently)...
Travelling... If not I wouldn't be on couchsurfing
Thinking, reading, scientific books mostly. Of course I read a lot for my studies, now I read about performing arts, racial identity, gender...
Partying, finding the place to be (or not to be), playing cards, chatting, learning, teaching...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music : one day someone told me that people can't say that they like every kind of music, because it's not possible for a human being to like (and to know) every kind of music on Earth.
So I like trip-hop, african music (of course I don't like it all, I listen to Afrobeat for exemple...), Latin American music (Cuban music, cumbia...) electro, techno, jazz, soul, piano solo, hip hop, pop, experimental music...
Theater : Jean Genet, Aimé Césaire, Wedekind, Pasolini, Wejdi Mouawad, Sarah Kane, Shakespeare, Garcia Lorca...
Movies : OK, I like films but I can't pretend to be cinephile, as so many of my friends remind me. Anyway, some directors I really like : Gregg Araki, Thomas Vinterberg, Kubrick, Haneke, Almodovar...
Le courageux mourra dans la bataille by Tristan Jordis, Perfume by Patrick Süskind, Virginia Woolf, Aimé Césaire... And many social sciences books and articles, Franz Fanon among others...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'll tell you stories and let you judge what is amazing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some liking ! I love talking with people about very interesting or less interesting stuff, sharing what I like, but also discovering what people want to share with me (such as music, a film, food, a special place, doing something very new...).
