About Me
One of the big challenges in life - write about oneself...
I guess I am an easygoing and a very positive person, almost always in a good mood and thinking that every bad situation leads to something good in the end, one just has to blend out the dark times along the way.
As for so many here, my passion is to see all the beautiful and also the maybe not so beautiful places in the world, meet new people from similar or different cultures and try to understand the big picture. I guess I have some decades left to find out if the latter is possible, maybe I'll end up with an answer at some point. And if not I have "at least" made incredible experiences and met wonderful people along the way ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have seen many areas of the world and hosted and been hosted by many people that I met on my travels and thought, after signing up for couchsurfing ages ago, I might finally start using it.
I hope to meet interesting people that can tell me about or teach me something I don't know :)
Interests
As I think that there is no right or wrong, no black or white on many matters that one can talk about, and that learning never stops, I love to get to know about people's opinions and experiences (from books, documentaries, exhibitions and of course from actual conversations and discussions with people) and find out if I might have to shift my opinion to another shade of grey or try to persuade them that they might have to...
One of my other big passions is photography, which goes along quite well with my love for travels and I like trying new things wherever I go. I would say I am open to almost every experience I can make, especially when shared with others.
And I love to sing and whistle a lot so you might want to stay away if that annoys you :)

Music, Movies, and Books
There are songs of almost all genres that I enjoy but mostly I listen to Rock, Classic, Blues, Oldies... I am happy if there is a guitar, a piano, a violin and/or a voice involved :)
Similar with films, I love a lot, except from horror movies, comedies with flat humour and cheap action films. But I am always open to change my mind if you have a good recommendation.
Most books that I read are about history, world politics, geography, travels, sociology, war and conflict. I also love photobooks and some of the literary classics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got on a plane, a bus, a ship, a bike, in a car or on my feet and travelled to a place that I haven't been before. All experiences are great in their own way, I find it impossible to just pick one and am too lazy to post them all.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you some things about photography, history, german and english language, how to find cheap flights and how to click very loud with your tongue :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you would like to host me I am very happy to do (try) some cooking or inviting you for drinks and if there is any hands-on experience needed in your place I will bring some engineering skills.
And definately I am up for long talks and discussions if you are interested in that.
