About Me

The thing that I most enjoy in me is the fact that I am a very caring and trustful person. I really love my family (especially my mother and grandmother). They are beautiful people, and I am so grateful for them, because they gave me and they are giving a good example and they take care of me all the time. I am honestly and sincere man. I made many sacrifices in order to advance in my professional career.
I am now responsible for the international relationships of a big multinational company and I enjoy my job which allows me to travel and to know different cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One??? Too many... :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teacher (Math, Geography) and supporting sport activities

Art in Tanzania (Zanzibar)

The school consist of around 240 students and was ten minutes walk away from the volunteer’s Hostel. It has 15 classes’ ages from 4 years to 16 years. It has 13 local Tanzanian teachers.

Kiswahili (local Language), maths, science, English, I.C.T and sports are all taught to the students. On my orientation day I have decided to do my volunteering with class called “Standard6” and it did contain pupils with an age of 12 to 15. In this class I was teaching math, geography and organizing some sport activities.

The School has a good number of comfortably sized classrooms with wall length chalkboards. However I also managed to give to my pupils exercise books, pen, pencils and other things for the day to day usage at school. This is something that will help them at least for the meantime, because there were pupils writing with a pencil and did erase the information after the lesson because they would need the sheets for the next course. The experience with teaching some pupils abroad was very positive for both sides. I was able to get a quick understanding on their level of knowledge and this was how I was planning the lessons and my approach. From the teachers perspective I received a lot of freedom as they wanted to know how me from the western world would teach. Therefore often in the class there was also sitting a teacher and would listen to my lessons as well.

In overall it was a very good volunteering activity as I have been to a place where there is a need for help. I was able to provide help as much as possible and get to know the different day to day life in a third world country. Furthermore since I lived near the school I also did get in touch with pupils outside school and with the local peoples living in that area.
