About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Simon, I'm 21 years old and I'm Dutch. As probably everyone here on this app, one of the things I love about going to other places is meeting new people. I'm excited to be going on my first solo travel the coming months. One of my goals is to not only be staying in hostels etc, but also taking the time to meet locals. I'm currently on a gap year before pursuing my Masters in Psychology. I'm social and quick to open up to people, Im in for a good talk or doing something spontaneous. Still, if you prefer doing your own thing that's totally cool as well, hanging out is not a necessity for me. I'm a clean person and I swear I don't snore!

Interests

Traveling for me is having an active time and meeting new people. I hope this app will help me see and do the things I want!

  • film making
  • concerts
  • hiking
  • water sports
  • indie music

Music, Movies, and Books

I like alternative/indie music and seeing music live in concerts (Nothing but Thieves, The Kooks, Cage the Elephant, The War on Drugs). I'm also quite into thriller/horror movies (Memento, Shutter Island, The Shining).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a lot in Europe, but I'd like to travel beyond that in the future. So far I've been on study abroad in Canada, that was a really amazing time. It's crazy how quickly you develop close friendships with other internationals. Apart from that, the few weekends that I went solo traveling there were a huge highlight.

Teach, Learn, Share

You're probably familiar with having a handlock with your for keeping your own stuff safe in hostels. But I recently discovered that my tiny lock was too small for some lockers and the handle could still be turned! Moral of the story: don't cheap out on a small handlock.
