About Me

Hi!

I'm an aspiring journalist student from Copenhagen, with a love and passion for music, films, arts and events of all kinds. I live on the island of Amager, just outside central Copenhagen, in a small but comfy apartment. It might not be the most fancy place, but there's a huge couch to crash on!

When I'm not studying, I keep busy by writing about music online, doing volunteer work for the Union of Danish Mediastudents, and working. I work as the editor of the online newspaper at my university.

I make an awesome vegetarian pizza with red onions, goat cheese and basil leaves. Seriously, it's delicious. But in all seriousness, cooking is one of my favourite hobbies. (It's caused some confusion before, but I'm not vegetarian. I just happen to like vegetables. Deal with it)

PLEASE NOTE: Due to intense workschedule, I'm not hosting in the period from the 10th of July until after the 24th of July. Thank you for reading this, and not writing requests about that period :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have two big reasons as to join Couchsurfing.com

1) To have an easier time travelling the world, and meeting awesome people in new places. I always like to connect with locals when i travel, because that's just the best way to experience new cities.

2) I really liked giving people who visit Copenhagen a good experience. I study history as my second course besides journalism, so i always try to give a guided city tour of Copenhagen, when my friends from abroad visit Denmark. It gives me joy, to experience my city through new eyes again and again, which is what it feels like, when i walk around town with friends from abroad.

Interests

I love all things media-related. Films, music, social media, the news, whatever. I'll read it, watch, digest it. I also love writing and communicating.

I have two great sports passions: American Football and Cycling. So my sports year is pretty evenly divided into a spring/summer season of cycling, and a fall/winter season of NFL. It works out pretty sweet that way.

As mentioned, I love cooking. One of my favourite ways to spend my time.

I also have a passion for good beer, and good cocktails.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's hard to make a definitive list, because it keeps changing. But here's some stuff I'm digging at the moment.

Movies: 20.000 Days on Earth, Mad Max: Fury Road, Ex Machina

Books: No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy, As We Were Dreaming by Clemens Meyer and Junkie by William Burroughs

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked through the Caucasian mountains of Georgia, and hiked around the Mont Blanc.

Midnight hike to the top of Adams Peak, Sri Lanka. Saw the last sunrise of the year from the top of Adams Peak.

Saw the Great Barrier Reef up close.

Yeah, that was four things. So what? ;-)
