I'm Simon and I'm 21 years old. I grew up near Basel, Switzerland. Maybe I'm not the most extroverted person you'll ever meet, but nevertheless I love to meet new people and everything what they bring with them - stories, thoughts, beliefs and backgrounds. Last year I worked for a couple of months in a Christian Youth Hostel in Amsterdam and had the opportunity to meet and get to know people from all over the world with all their different personalities. I really like a good cup of coffee and the whole process behind it, the beans, the smell in the air, the sound of a coffee grinder - basically everything. So being a barista one day and have my own roastery would be pretty awesome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Exploring a different country or region is already exciting and to meet people who actually live there is even better. To get a glimpse of people's life in different parts of the world is getting to know their real culture I think and makes traveling complete. Being hospitable to someone and to experience real hospitality is one of the most precious esteems you can give to a person or receive from a person. I bet Jesus would be the best Couchsurfing host you and I would ever meet. And - to be honest - Couchsurfing is also the cheapest way to travel.

I'm never able to answer to the question what my favorite music is. I like a lot of music, different genres, from African Choir Music to Mendellsohn Bartholdy's "Elijah" and Eminem's "The Real Slim Shady".
