About Me
Hi I'm Simon. I was born in Anchorage Alaska and lived there until 2015.
My dad is from Chile and immigrated to the United States when he was 18.
My mom is from Japan and immigrated to the United States when she was 20ish.
I spent the first 15 years of my life in Alaska, my dad, who works for the government, was instructed to move to DC in 2015 and since then I have moved two more times around Maryland.
Recently biked for two months across North America (Maryland to Alaska).
Last summer (2018) I began a gap year with the University of Chicago and my family moved to Tokyo (for my dad's job). I stayed behind and had my own apartment in Baltimore. I worked for six months as a server and EMT to save up for a three-month bike trip to Anchorage AK from Baltimore MD (that I just finished).
I have a goofy bike blog at https://cookedcorn.casa/bike
I like biking, hiking, and tech stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first got on couchsurfing to find places to stay on the way while I was biking from Baltimore, MD to Anchorage, AK.
I got back on Couchsurfing to find a place(s) to stay in Accra Ghana (July 12 - July 31) while I worked with the STEMBees nonprofit to teach robotics and programming for two weeks to various students in the area.
Now I use Couchsurfing recreationally for small trips.
