***Alex and Simon***

Hi Bonjour Hola Olá !

We are Alex and Simon (it used to be Simon's account, but now it's our couple's account!), we're both teachers from Québec (Canada). We've been teaching in China from 2019 to 2022 (we weren't able to use CS overthere), and we decided to take a few months off and to travel a bit !

We love to travel (how original eh!) and to discover cultures (Alex has a degree in anthropology, Simon in PE), we're active travelers (we love hiking and exploring around), and we love cooking and discovering new food.

It's not our first time traveling together, we had the chance, before Covid hit, to travel around Asia. Then, during our 2 years locked in China, we were able to go around this stunning (but strict) country.
Alex also studied in Finland, and Simon studied in France and Spain.

We could describe ourselves as social and passionate people who are always ready or up to do things, discover the world and make new friends!

Also, I (Simon) only hosted a few people back home because I wasn't living in a large city in Canada (a city called Granby), so very few travelers actually came to that town, but I hope I'll be able to host more people when we move to Montreal in the future!

Oh, and we're always up for a beer, a good meal or a hike!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We like to show people, when home, the beautiful things to see and to discover in Québec. When we travel, we like to see and discover the non-touristic places or the way locals live.

We also enjoy learning new languages, new cultures, sharing our own, teaching French language or Québec swear words, and making new friends!

I (Simon) started using CS in 2016 and I only had great and nice experiences so far!

Interests

We just bought a van back home, so we enjoy going for hikes and long trips while exploring the outdoors.

We like to have chill evenings, talking around a campfire, and we also like to party and to have our share of fun!

We love to cook (Simon loves to make sushis or cook poutine and Alex makes awesome desserts) and we love to have a drink!

We both love sports and we enjoy going to concerts and events.

We both try to learn Spanish.

We both love biking around a new city, it's our favourite way to visit and explore a new place.

Music, Movies, and Books

We both like Québec music, but we also have different music taste. Our music taste is quite open.

We're both huge The Office fans, and we like to watch our share of movies and series, we also both enjoy reading. One prefers romance novels, the other history/informative books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

3 years of living and teaching in China was quite a special adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

Simon can teach you how to make a badass hockey slap shot (although he broke his knee 4 yrs ago doing it, so be careful if you try too). We can teach you how to cook sushis, poutine, dumplings or other simple Chinese meals.

We love to practice our Spanish!

We'd be happy to learn from you and to discuss with you, I think a person grows up and learns by being open-minded, by listening to others and by sharing its own knowledge.

Neither of us play guitar unfortunately :'(
