Hello. I've just finished a year of remote living working as the doctor on a base for the British Antarctic Survey where we had 10 people over winter. I'm now coming back to the real world (and real food). I've taking some time traveling around Europe without much of a plan to see where I end up. Always keen to get out and about on walks, have a quiet night in or go out for a relaxed meal somewhere. Not done couchsurfing before but it looks interesting.

Born and lived in the UK. Went directly into undergraduate medicine and remained around the Midlands mostly. Lived for a year in New Zealand for work before entering specialty training and then had my eye on the Antarctic job for a while. Not sure what to do with myself from now.

I've finished my Antarctic deployment so I've got a couple of months holiday before returning to normal work. I've decided to drive my car around Europe to spend a decent amount of time in lots of places. Would be perfect to find a host to show me the great walking spots locally as well as places to eat. No set plan for the travel, just rough ideas!

Best TV series of all time is Black Sails and it's a tragedy not many people have heard of it or seen it.
Films I love Hot Fuzz and Monty Python and the Holy Grail, otherwise really haven't seen too many of the 'classics' aside from some major franchises (Bond/HP/LOTR/SW etc.).
Music - love Avicii. Been to Eurovision in Ukraine 2017. Rickrolled King Charles.

Ash boarding!
Walking up a continually erupting volcano that shoots lava and acidic clouds into the sky and then just blasting down a fine dark ash slope on a wooden board. Breaking through the clouds to see the coastline and sunshine while hurtling towards the ash plane was unforgettable.

I can teach you how to play squash (bringing spare kit with me), or the card game cribbage. Or both.
Also can make amazing fudge, focaccia, chocolate cookies, cakes and sweet treats. Many people have told me I should quit the day job and open a bakery.

If anyone plays Age of Mythology (old or Retold) then we may get on very well, I spent a lot of time designing and playing custom scenarios.

Happy to talk about previous places I've been and the mischief I have got up to! Dark humour which may well come out the longer we talk.
