About Me

I just finished the MPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford and will be now working full-time on my charity that seeks to facilitate scholarships for programming and digital skills to students in sub-Saharan Africa and then match students with western tech companies as remote interns whilst using blockchain technologies for increased transparency, security and accountability.

Growing up, I have always been a multi-culture kid (half swede-half Chinese). I spent a year after 9th grade in Shanghai where I learned how the Chinese school system work and how to write and read mandarin. During my undergrad I spent 1 year at UC Berkeley on exchange.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've heard about couch surfing from a friend and identifying as a supporter of the Collaborative commons ideas, shared economy and increasing efficiency I supported the idea.

One day, I found myself getting the opportunity to be in a film (as an extra), and so I decided to give it a go! I went to Norrköping in Sweden and met a wonderful guy who hosted me:)

I hosted a bit this summer, and hoping to host once I get a new house in Oxford in November or so.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, I hate choosing those things. I'm a libra. But I could say a couple of good, but largely unknown movies.
Seven pounds, cloud atlas, into the wild, memento, city of God

Fantasy I've read recently: mistborn, skyward

Non-fiction: Poor Economics, The precipice

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm, tricky one. I am particularly proud over the fact that I organised a 3 week cultural exchange during my second year of high school. I recruited a team of 12 volunteers and organised housing for 20+ people as well as planned a full 3 week of activities for the at-risk youth visitors from San Diego that came to our high school in Stockholm (including a 4-day cruise going through Tallin, St Petersburg and Helsinki)

Teach, Learn, Share

Piano, basic income, politics of automation, nice quotes, China/life in China, blockchain/cryptocurrencies and just anything economics I guess

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can talk about my interests or yours, I'm very eager to learn new things. And I can also do some Chinese food :)

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Russian Federation, United Kingdom, United States
