About Me

As you already might know my Name is Simon. I'm 19 years old and right now I'm in the middle of the biggest adventure of my life so far, a year abroad in australia.

Music is one of the great joys in my life, even though, or perhaps because, I don't really have a favourite genre. I think any kind of music is phenomenal as long as it comes from the heart and is played with joy. I've been playing guitar myself for just over ten years and would love to play for you when I've bought my own guitar here in Australia or maybe I could borrow one from you. That would be fantastic.

I am very open minded and love to learn new things every second of my life. I'm also curious about all sorts of things, but especially animals, plants and physics.

I'm a dreamer, as anyone could easily tell from my taste in books and films. I'm particularly fond of the world of Frank Hurbert's Dune. I love immersing myself in new real and fictional worlds, whether I'm travelling or reading a good book.

Going crazy about nature no problem, whether it's animals, plants or breathtaking landscapes. So if you have a pet at home, no matter which one I would love to get to know him or her. Forthermore I love hiking, I even spent my 18th birthday on a mountain pasture in Austria as a birthday wish. That's why my profile picture is from that very day. Sadly its not my dog on the picture but I really would love to.

Partying not my preferd way of spending a evening but with some great friends I would not want to miss one second of it. That's why I've never been so drunk that I couldn't remember the evening afterwards.

I'm neither vegan nor vegitarian, but I try to eat as little meat as possible. But unfortunately it's so damn tasty that I just can't give it up completely. I admire my little sister all the more because she's been vegan for 4 years, so if you're vegan, don't worry, I can easily live without meat for quite a while and love good meat-free food just as much if not a little more because you don't have to feel guilty about it afeter eating.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I could choose a superpower, it would be the ability to learn super fast, like a photographic memory. I could also wish that I just knew everything, but that would be so boring, because then what would be the point of life?

That would be super useful because basically I kind of want to know everything there is to know about life, from the basics of physics to the complex mechanisms and behaviours of living things. But I also know that that might be an impossible goal for a normal human being so the superpower would be really useful

Right now, however, I am particularly interested in cooking and getting to know the southern starry sky and the indescribable nature here on the smallest but finest (German proverb) continent of our wonderful earth.

One of my biggest dreams in life is to see the milkiway back in germany that was impossible because the light pollution was too high but i hope to fulfil this dream in australia.

As for sharing and teaching, I can definitely give German lessons and as soon as I get a guitar here in Australia I'll be happy to teach you how to play it or play something for you.

Furthermore, you can of course ask me as many "holes in the belly" (another German proverb meaning ask me as much questions as you want) as you like about my time here in Australia or anything else you want to hear my opinion/experience about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you have a guitare at home I would love to play for you. Otherwise I can only offer my company and if you want some German lessons that would be fun too.
