Overview
About Me
I've been in a CS mood this winter, but that left me with two sets of guest bedding to wash by hand recently- so would much prefer if visitors bought a sheet sleeping bag, or similar, and pillow case with them. Thank you.
CURRENT MISSION
I'm in the UK working summers, on La Gomera overwinter. I do what I can to fight environmental destruction. Two thirds through an environmental science degree. I'd like to learn to play more than one string on a bass guitar ( but one sounds pretty good to me).
ABOUT ME
Easy going ; doesn't take himself too seriously ; concerned about the environment ; nature loving ; I like my own space, so am only able to offer accommodation to people who can keep themselves occupied generally, and when I'm not to busy with studying.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It might be nice to have the occasional visitor, or to occasionally meet some extra new people.
Interests
I love nature : living in it, collecting fruit and veg from it, the sound and sight of it .I wanted to buy a small piece of land to grow fruit and veg in the Canary Islands, as I previously did in Wales . But I can't and probably never will be able to afford it as I'm not willing to give up years of this short life to gathering the necessary cash.
I also enjoy archery, I used to meditate, and work in a Meditation centre, but now just prefer to be nourished by nature generally.

Music, Movies, and Books
Prog rock from around 1970 mostly, these days.
I read texts from my Environmental Science degree. Books about behavioural ecology (how animals behave and why).
Sometimes I get to see TV, and enjoy any good drama series, such as Inspector Montalbano, or programmes that teach something about this world and society.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Was inspired with a convincing hypothesis about the fundamental nature of (physical and mental) forms and their relationship on a retreat once, but I'm not really impressed by theories any more. I can still share it with those interested though- I feel that it could be helpful with personal interactions and emotions.
Some people seem to be amazed when they found out I lived in a cave on the beach, or before that, that I lived in a self made hut growing and collecting a fair part of my food, and brewing and baking much of the rest. Water from a seep, and light from candles, etc.
But to be honest, I'm more conscious of what I didn't do: I never went and lived in a hunter-gatherer tribe for example- but have perhaps gotten over that.
