CURRENT MISSION

See as much of the world as humanly possible. Me and my glamorous assistant/partner in crime/pretty lady are planning a trip round Europe to see the sights and hopefully meet some fantastic people on the way. We've spent a lot of time talking about it and now its time to go! Very exciting!

ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Simon,
I'm a Bar Tender/Shop Assistant from York in England. I'm friendly, extremely easy going and always up for an adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything at least once and never judge a book by its cover. I've had some of my best experiences by stepping outside my comfort zone, trying that thing you thought you'd hate or not be good at. Had some of my most interesting conversations talking to the random person sat next to you on the train.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I guess I'm here for the same reason everyone is: To meet new and interesting people, try and see something new and to experience places through the eyes of people who actually live there and not just follow the tourist train.

A few years ago I was filming a documentary about student travel in Paris where I interviewed a couch surfing host and a young American couple who were staying with him. In the interviews everyone involved had nothing but good things to say about couch surfing, something that I'd never heard of before, and I thought this was something I'd have to try myself one day. So here we are :)

I'd say my main interests at the moment are traveling, meeting new people and experiencing new things.
When I'm home however I enjoy photography, playing guitar, a little bit of bass and of course having a good drink :)

音乐、电影和书籍

Music is a hard one. I like almost anything really , love a bit of indie, ska, reggae, brit pop, folk, punk, country, mo town, soul. Not a massive fan of RnB but I'm sure I've just not heard the right track yet. Maybe you could educate me?

My three favourite films are: Star Wars Empire Strikes Back, Back to the Future and the original Jurassic Park. That ones easy!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I spent two summers working at a performing arts camp in the United States teaching kids about film. It was amazing, beautiful countryside, amazing kids and made some of the best friends I've ever had.

Other than (reasonably) good company and good conversation. I make a great drinking buddy and play a little guitar so I'm always up for a little jam :)
