ABOUT ME

I am a web developer & small business owner living in Pittsburgh, PA with my wife, Melanie. We like having new friends. You can come stay with us. We have a futon -- not a couch. Is that a violation of the terms of service?

We are former farm workers and, as such, are into fresh and local food. My business is based around working with small farms. So we like to talk about food & ag.. talking often leads to eating good food. So let's eat and drink together! That's usually not a hard sell.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couch surfed once in Louisville, KY. Now I'm not sure where this will lead.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I heard about CouchSurfing a few times and then tried it about a year and a half ago -- now I have couchsurfed and hosted a number of times. I have always enjoyed mixing it up with people I would not otherwise have had the pleasure of meeting whether from Cleveland or from Germany.

I like hiking, travel, growing food, riding around the city of Pittsburgh, some mountain biking, disc golf, racquetball, drinking beers, cooking, and more.

Melanie and I are running the Pittsburgh Marathon this year, which takes up a lot of our "Interests" time right now.

I've been joining up with couchsurfers and other around the city for "Obscure Games" which are physical games that are made up or otherwise obscure. Great work-out and group of people. Ask me the come along!

50 yards from the cone of an active volcano in Guatemala (Pacaya). Muy pelligroso!

We were just in southeast Asia..specifically Vietnam.. for a month and that was pretty amazing from watching motorbikes careen into each other to watching the rice harvest to riding elephants bare back! I'd say we got the most out of our time there.
