About Me
since this page obviosly has gone bad in the last couple of months, here is my facebook adress, in case of emergency, just send me a friend request there:
https://www.facebook.com/winston.smith.3150
I'm a 24 year old student from Germany and study philosophy & anthropology in Mainz since April 2014.
My hobbies are writing short stories, making photos and – of course – travelling.
I also enjoy drinking beer with friends, having talks about literally everything. I can talk a lot, especially about philosophy or political ideas or experiences people made, but I also like to listen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The people, the experience, I want to travel and want to see the REAL cities, not some fake mask it has to offer for tourists.
Also I love to show people my new hometown Mainz, write me, I can host, I can show you around, it is one of the most under appreciated cities in Germany I guess.
Interests
I like to travel (what a surprise, a person that likes to travel on couchsurfing.org... ) and writing (I do poetry slams sometimes) and making photos of almost everything.
I like peoples stories and I'm interested in having something to tell as well, and for that traveling is one of the best ways.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music. Almost every kind. Small bands, live music.
Don't care. But music is very important.
One of my philosophies is: Always in the direction where the music is coming from.
My favourite films are Fight Club, The Big Lebowski, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Matrix (Only Part one), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Donnie Darko, Dogma and Idiocracy.
I love Kafka, Woody Allen and some German Authors. I also enjoyed reading Marc Uwe Kling from Germany very much and of course philosophical books, for example John Stuart Mill or Kant.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-occupied a house for three days after the last day of my final exams
-slept on a balcony with a great view over Praha
-travelled to greece by train in one month
-drunkenly booked a one day trip to London (which was exhausting but awesome)
-met a puma in a pub in Praha
-Occupied an empty old broken caravan 10 meters from the sea in south France
-Hitchhiked threw east, south and west europe
-slept on beaches at the Algarve coast in summer
What I Can Share with Hosts
This a tough question.. Well, I like to discuss and share experiences I gained on trips.
I can confirm or deny stereotypes you have about Germans..
And I can talk about the quirks of the German language.
Also, I have matresses, a bed, a toilet and a shower.
