About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Dig a tunnel to the centre of the moon
ABOUT ME
Open-minded and spiced with some positive weirdness. Positive weirdness includes skinny-dipping in the sea at midnight, preferring to talk about what influence a zombie apocalypse would have on food industry rather than about recent TV shows or sport, and the like. I am a bit geeky as well, but not that much. I like dancing, play music, read, travel, love hillwalking... At the moment I'm mainly focusing on my university work.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm a threshold deontologist in ethics (though with some leanings towards rule utilitarianism), contextualist and partial skeptic in epistemology, and follow contextual and institutional analyses in aesthetics. I don't have very specified views on metaphysics and ontology, though I think that a lot of what is done in those fields is very questionable and could be described as modern scholasticism. Also, I wish someone conclusively disproved genuine modal realism finally, because until that's done I'm stuck having to accept it for lack of better alternatives.
What, I'm a philosopher :P

Music, Movies, and Books
Ha, let others speak for me! That's so postmodern :D
Books - hard to find the favourite, I read to many... But let's say: Gargantua and Pantagruel (Rableis), The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Kundera), The Name of the Rose (Eco), and as of recently, Song of Ice and Fire (Martin).
Movies - Pi (Aronofsky), The Seventh Seal (Bergman), The Kingdom (von Trier), Coffee and Cigarettes (J. Jarmusch), Dr. Strangelove (Kubrick), Clerks,
Shows - Whose Line is it Anyway, Monty Python, South Park, The Big Bang Theory (you must love the geeks!), Battlestar Galactica, Dexter
Music - I love classical music (Stravinsky is the man!), then goes jazz (say, Mingus, Charlie Parker) and definitely rock (Pink Floyd, Nick Cave) and metal (LTE, Moonspell, Blind Guardian). Finally, some electronic (Aphex Twin, Infected Mushroom).
Food - I just like to try different things. Generally I like rather spicy food, so mexican and indian dishes are my thing. Favourites include: sushi, any meat in chocolate & chili sauce, and spinach curry. Apart of that: milk chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate spread, flavoured dark chocolate, marzipan chocolate, hot chocolate, and did I mention chocolate?
PC Games - Planescape: Torment; all Monkey Islands; Civilisation IV; Europa Universalis III; all Mass Effects; Deus Ex.
Board and RPG games - Red Dragon Inn; Munchkin; Fury of Dracula; Cyberpunk 2020; Call of Cthulhu; Vampire: the Masquerade.
Webcomics - xkcd, smbc, QC, Oglaf, Order of the Stick.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Beltane Fire Festival. Participated several times. It's amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I found a way to deal with worrying that a couchsurfer I invite home might be a serial killer or something. I think of my guests and hosts as of wild animals - they might look scary, but they're probably more afraid of me than I am of them! :D
