About Me

After completing an interdisciplinary PhD in architecture, sociology and game design, I left
the stressful academic career in Amsterdam and moved to Amorgos island in Greece. In order
to heal myself from various self-immune disorders which have been challenging my health, I
developed a growing interest for learning "the ancient way to be healthy".
I became involved with Vijnana Yoga already during the first year of my PhD and then I
completed a three year teacher training and I studied, for several years the philosophy of
yoga, based on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.
To discover the deeper potential of the human mind, I travel every winter to Myanmar. In a
Buddhist monastery in the town of Hsipaw, I am spending long time (2-3 months) in serious
meditation (8 hours/day). There, under the guidance of my teacher monk, I practice the meditation techniques of the Path to Enlightenment, as taught by the Buddha 2500 years ago.
Further on, I became a therapist, connecting mind and body to work as one.
From one side, through meditation, by using the strong and powerful concentration of the mind. And from the other side, I deliver an intense physical approach- using deep therapeutic Thai
massage techniques to cure chronic pain, as taught by my teacher in Bangkok, the blind
massage master, Ajahn Yong Kiat.
My therapeutic methodology is enhanced by collaborating with nature. While living in
Amorgos, my passion for therapeutic herbs had found fertile ground on the island- a paradise
for wild aromatic plants, due to specific climatic conditions. I collect and cultivate aromatic
herbs, to create over 20 different herbal tea blends, for various ailments.
The knowledge I came in touch with from all these different but mutually connected fields
(Buddhist meditation, yoga, Thai massage, herbalism) become guidelines towards a balanced
way of living for body and mind.
