ABOUT ME

They call me Simon Bones and I'm a 30 year old world record holding skydiving instructor and electrical engineer. I love to travel everywhere either on my own, or sometimes with a friend. I usually like to hit places known for good or scenic skydiving, tasty vineyards, outstanding brews, and warm music.

PHILOSOPHY

The closer we are to danger, the farther we are from harm.

There are no such things as negative consequences, just things you might have trouble putting into perspective at the time.

The road goes on forever and the party never ends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I travel, I usually never get any kind of hotel. I either bring a tent, sleep in my car, or crash at someones place. I'm always willing to return that favor and open up my couch and knowledge of my town to any fellow travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Definitely did some surfing in Spain, in smaller towns South of Madrid. Mostly my couch surfing is from dropzone to dropzone around the USA with the skydivers who inhabit those airports.

Had one successful couchsurf in Northern Ireland, though I sent out dozens and dozens of requests all around the country with no other successes. Had 3 people cancel on me last minute even!

Did a bunch of surfing in Brazil with a friend I met up north who just coincidentally happened to be a couchsurfer!

But mostly local surfing in the US.

Skydiving, BASE jumping, bee keeping, photography and videography, brewing beer, coffee shops, road trips, homemade ice cream, vineyards/wine tasting, good beer, horror movies, running around a beach at night, Chuck Norris, fireworks, and redheaded girls.

You're bound to find more of my movies or videos I'm in if you search the net. They're all over. Sometimes I stumble upon them by accident and wonder how it got posted, who posted it, and how long it's been online :)

Music: Where to begin? Where to end? I love everything from Classical to Scandinavian death metal. From Salsa to Traditional Irish. I listen to strange stuff and plain stuff. I try and stay away from the gangster rap stuff and the pop country.

Books- I just finished reading Moby Dick. Definitely not as good as Tolkien's books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I usually can't think of these stories on the spot. You're most likely to hear them from my friends. They tell them better anyway. More dramatically as well... "And then you know what the crazy bastard did!?!?" There are some good ones though.

If you ever think something is just for kids then you let yourself get old. I will never ever grow up.

Cold is evil. Keep the snow and cold away from me. A humans natural habitat is somewhere where one can survive outdoors in the nude.
