About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I would love to see and make a new friend in 100 different countries.
Some of the best memories from my travels are the people who I meet, more than the places. I'm always looking to meet new people and to learn new ways of seeing the world.
Right now I have returned to university to study for a another career.
PHILOSOPHY
One of my favourite parts of traveling is meeting new people and forging new connections across diverse cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with other travelers and locals with similar interests, or who are connected to the travel lifestyle. The nomad life can ironically feel a little bit isolating sometimes. To be part of a global community of really interesting and open people!
Interests
Right now I am focused a lot on electrical and computer engineering, physics, and computer science. I also like exploring new languages, biking and hiking around Vancouver, freeline/drift skates.
I take an interest in local customs, food, and especially music. Music is like an entirely new sensation with which to experience a different culture.
I also like experiencing a new place through the local plants that grow there. Which ones are familiar, already known, which ones are new to me. The plants tell a story of geographical relatedness and also of human migrations and the plants that they moved with them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Decided to go back to university for an engineering degree at age 33!
I spent close to a year in long periods of isolation writing music and connecting with the forest in a purpose built house out in the middle of the Peruvian jungle.
Went on an epic sailing adventure with my two brothers making an off-shore journey from Victoria, BC to San Francisco, then continuing down to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico on a 30ft vessel.
Planted 3 million trees in the mosquito infested swamps of Northern Canada over the course of 10 years. Yes, my back does hurt.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Spanish or music, entertain with stories. If you want to practice English or French or Spanish, that is fair game as well. If you want to play some music or have a guitar song that you would like to learn, I can help. I know quite a bit of the area around Vancouver and can help out with that if you are visiting here.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A genuinely open and caring guest to share experiences with, a friendship beyond borders. I can work as your sou-chef or help buy some groceries for a shared meal. I have lots of travel stories if I get prompted for one.
