To find out why English is listed as my second language...
ABOUT ME
Hey! My name is Simon, I am 26 years old and I work as an Analyst for Cancer Research UK.
I am a very open and relaxed guy, and I enjoy meeting new people. My interests include music, sports, and watching movies.
I'm also very interested in Spanish and Latin American culture, and in the last few months have started to really get into Cuban Salsa dancing. I have lived in both South America and Barcelona.
PHILOSOPHY
"No man is a failure who has friends"
Right on, Clarence! :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have lots of friends at home and abroad who I have met through couchsurfing, and I also hope I will meet lots of new people when I move in a few weeks!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The first time I used couchsurfing a guy in Istanbul let me and 5 other friends crash on the floor in his lounge! I thought that was really cool. Since then I've hosted a few people myself, and made some really good friends! :)
Interests
My favourite thing to do in the summer is go swimming in a river or a lake...but the UK is always really cold so its kinda difficult! Ummm, I'm a big fan of movies and I'm a real sucker for the classics! I also like skateboarding and ski holidays, and lots of other sports too, especially ones that give you an adrenaline rush! I used to like motorcycling too, but I had to sell my bike to fund travelling :(

Music, Movies, and Books
Man, this has gotta be the hardest question right?! I guess for movies I like Some Like It Hot, Die Hard, and my guilty pleasure: When Harry Met Sally. And Im sure like a lot of others, watching Shawshank always puts me in an optimistic frame of mind :)
As far as music goes...well, it would be a pretty long list. Band of Horses, Death Cab, Flaming Lips, JEW, Weezer...yeah, you get the idea. Oh and of course, the Beatles.
As for books well I read a bit of philosophy because I used to study it, but my favourite fiction books are The Return of the Native, Blood Wedding, and the History of Rasselas. Having said that I tend to prefer plays to novels. I also think everyone should read â'The Life You Can Save' by Peter Singer.
