About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling to Berlin to work in the music industry.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Simon and I come from Denmark.
I'm currently studying a masters in Aesthetics & Culture at Aarhus University, and eventually I'm hoping on studying a semester abroad.

My longer travels have mostly been by myself and I have learned, how open and outgoing people in general are, no matter what culture or background.
That have made me prefer travelling in a simple way, depending on as little as possible, concerning transport, money and accommodation.
The countries in which I've travelled like this, is Turkey and most importantly Cambodia and Peru, which both taught me incredible new things about life and human-kind.
In January of 2012 I went to Australia for close to 6 months, travelling and working throughout the Eastern part of the country.
This was has been followed by an interrailing-trip around Europe for a month and other short vacations in-between semesters.

PHILOSOPHY

I find trust as being the most important factor of our lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I find CouchSurfing as being a great way to travel, explore and learn about cultures and the people living in those.

Interests

I'm very interested in learning about new cultures as well as the history attached to it.
I enjoy all sorts of out-door-activities, especially trekking and scuba-diving.
As well I'm a music-enthusiast and I very much enjoy going to shows of all kinds. I have several times before travelled to other countries for shows, meeting amazing people - experiences I will remember forever!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy nearly all sorts of music, as long as it's got a personal touch to it - although what I listen to the most are alt-rock and Indie, such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins etc.

I enjoy films by David Lynch, Tim Burton and Terry Gilliam, although my favorite films has to be "Into The Wild" directed by Sean Penn as well as the book of the same name by John Krakauer.
I as well enjoy books by Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, Don DeLillo and various biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surfing world-famous waves, as well as working in a hostel in Byron Bay, Australia.
Volunteering to prevent food-waste in Melbourne, Australia.
Diving in the Gulf of Thailand, where I saw wide ranges of exotic fish.
Living and working in the Andean Mountains close to Macchu Picchu, Peru.
Trekking in the mountains of Norway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have the somewhat "absurd" dream of speaking all languages in the world, currently working on being fluent in Spanish and Turkish.
I can share my interest in culture and society as well as history and nature and teach Danish culture and history.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
