About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see it all. And I want to meet everyone who has a story to tell.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel, I love to meet new people. I love to play music. I love to read and to write and to collaborate with others. I am a news junky, through and though.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything happens for a reason. Too bad there's no such thing as reason.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love couchsurfing. Years and years ago, I let a Belgian couple stay with me before I knew what this website really was, and I've been hooked ever since. Always good to know locals any place you go. If you can be my local, great. If I can be yours, just as good.

Interests

Music, the Middle East, fiction, non-fiction, logic, writing, religion, current events, psychology, well written TV series... the list continues to grow.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Thank You For Smoking, Little Miss Sunshine, The Bands Visit, Once, Lars and the Real Girl. Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Books: I am a big reader. Love Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Robbins. Like I.B. Singer, Chaim Potok, Kerouac. I have very conflicted thoughts about Phillip Roth. Also read loads of non-fiction. I read about the Middle East a lot, but also anything else that sounds interesting.

In terms of music, things that I am listening to these days are: Darrell Scott, Andrew Bird, The Milk Carton Kids, The Del McCoury Band, The Punch Brothers, Michael Hedges, Sara Watkins, John Hartford...

That list barely scrapes the surface, but its a beginning at least.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 14 I shook hands with Mikael Gorbachov!
Survived crossing the streets and highways of Cairo. Forget the pyramids, that was true madness!!!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Bermuda, Canada, Egypt, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Palestine, Saint Lucia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, United States
