About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work, travel, learn about other cultures, meet new people!

ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm Simon (also called Simu). I grew up in Berne, Switzerland and I'm currently living and working in Lucerne.

In recent years, I also lived in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Berlin, Germany for half a year each. In 2012 I travelled to South America and spent some months there, mainly in Argentina. I always enjoyed myself a lot living abroad.. although I also like being here around friends and family, it always just seems to be a bit more interesting to get to know new cultures and so on :-)

I always like to meet new people, go out, debate, cook, eat, listen to music, learn about different cultures, go to concerts, read, play music (cello & guitar) and so on! To know about my musical taste, you can visit www.last.fm/users/Simu1

I'm looking forward to have more travel experiences in the future and I'm also always very happy to meet people from other countries in Switzerland. So don't hesitate to contact me.

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." (Mark Twain)

"In order to be an immaculate member of a flock of sheep, one must above all be a sheep oneself." (Albert Einstein)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience I had in Beirut, Lebanon and I also did couchsurfing in South America and hosted some people here in Switzerland. I always met great people who showed me cool spots in their cities which you would never find without some local support.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent some really good months travelling in South America, mainly Argentina, back in 2012.

Already in 2009 I travelled to Lebonon, which to me is one of the most intersting countries on earth, because of its history and politics.. all the people I met are extremely friendly and hospitable, Beirut as a city is beautiful, colorful and and.. extreme in many ways :-)

I also really loved living in Slovenia for half a year in 2009/10 during my Erasmus semester. I totally fell in love with the city of Ljubljana and the whole country. About Slovenia I like the very openhearted people, the food, the countryside, the old town of Ljubljana, Metelkova, Laško pivo, the language... so, basically everything.
