About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to do what I must to, and do it well. I'll do it for me, honey baby, can't you tell?!
ABOUT ME
student, reader, dancer, dreamer, activist, feminist, crafter, gardener.
Over the past few years I've been in Wellington studying for my phd in criminal psychology. Alongside that I've been volunteering and working in community groups and NGOs on issues that I'm passionate about. These have lately focussed on working with survivors of abuse and exploring community-based alternatives to the court processes. Right now I'm working and writing in Canberra and trying to figure out what I want to do next!
Apart from studying obscure subject and working with community projects I also love making things. I can make my own (and the entire wellington activist scene's!) soap, sew most things and crochet a storm. I love reclaiming public spaces through fibre graffiti and am looking forward to making new tags to bring with me!
I've been doing a form of Indian classical dance for 24 years. I've lately been learning flamenco, argentine tango and raks sharqi. If I'm not dancing I feel a little bit like I don't exist!
PHILOSOPHY
Um... try to do what you can to avoid moving forward the inevitable apocalypse? So while you're here... be kind? Hmmm... The world is being seriously messed up by fools: inform yourself, organise, do what you can and have fun?! Sigh.
