About Me
*** AWAY FROM HOME 09/07-21/07 ***
I am a PhD student in Microbiology and Bioinformatics in Liège (Belgium), which gives me the opportunity to travel from time to time for seminars and stuff. I love this part of my job, because I never travelled much when I was young :D
I recently joined the roller derby team of my town, and often go out skating in different skateparks.
I hate planes, because of the pollution they cause, and would much rather travel by train or hitch hiking if the place I go to is accessible by those means of transportation :)
I am trying to be eco-responsible when I travel, because Earth is amazing and we should cherish it instead of destroying it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I heard about couchsurfing a long time ago, but I never knew the website... I always imagined people just knocked on doors (which is completely ridiculous, I agree :D )
But then someone finally told me about the website, and it looked amazing. I have always loved meeting new people, this gives me this weird happy feeling, you know, the one where you just smile for no reason all the time. Maybe this is because I am usually pretty shy, and then when I force myself out of my comfort zone, I get so excited and euphoric...

Music, Movies, and Books
I can't really say which music I prefer. I always change the style. I can't maybe cite some bands or musicians I like, but the list is non-exhaustive:
Aesop Rock, Can't Stop Won't Stop, Chet Faker, Portugal. The Man, Childish Gambino, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Thylacine, ...
Movies... I like Horror movies, even though I will probably not sleep well afterwards. I like a lot of movies, as long as they are good, I don't have a preferred style :)
For my books I prefer fantasy books, or science fiction. But I haven't had much time to read during my studies. So now I am just starting again. The author I am focused on right now is Robin Hobb...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cliff jumping was probably the most amazing thing. But it wasn't even very high :D I am a wuss, that's all...
Visiting an abandoned hotel in Croatia was also something crazy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My contagious laugh? I don't know, I love to talk, laugh, have fun and have stupid debates about robots taking over the world or something like that :D (which I don't believe in yet)
I promise I will always bring a Belgian beer if possible (and if you are not from Belgium, otherwise I will bring something else, maybe more specific to my city, I haven't thought about it yet).
Countries I’ve Visited
Croatia, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain
Countries I’ve Lived In
