PHILOSOPHY

I am vegan because I think that eating, utilising and exploiting animals is simply not ecological, not sustainable, not necessary- thus not right.

I would like to make people questioning their consume behaviour and eating habits. We have to realize that eating meat and utilising animals in general is no longer a personal decision but throughout politically and especially ecologically relevant. And moreover: Where is our right to exploit, kill and use animals for amusement? Don't they have the same right to live in freedom like us?

Furthermore I try to avoid all different products of Coca-Cola and Nestlé for instance. These corporations [and also many many others] are simply exploiting the entire southern hemisphere and it is the responsability of us- the consumers of industrialized countries- to question and change our consumerism.

I guess that is enough for the beginning...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I simply want to get to know new people from everywhere. I think it is just a unique experience when you purposely meet somebody whom you never met before, you get to know this person and for a short time you are a very little part of the life of another human being. Let's get to know each other! Yeahh. =)

Well, I could recommend just plenty of German books because I unfortunately didn't read so many English books yet.
"Stuffed And Starved" is a very good and informative English book though.

..."Born To Run"- you have to read it. It is not just the Bible of the Barefoot Running Community but also a generally really interesting, informative and sage book about lifestyle and philosophy and so many other things...yeahh.

To produce
1 kilogramme of meat you need @ least 15.000 litres of water are necessary.
The average European eats ~70 kilogramme of meat per year [which is ~40 kilogramme too much]...
..so altogether that makes 1050000 litres of water per year.
Insofar it is perhaps not surprising anymore to know that [intensive] livestock farming is the main reason for CO2 emissions on earth widely before the entire traffic. In this spirit: Bon appetit!

Plastic destroys us and our environment. There exists a "plastic island" in the Pacific Ocean as big as Western Europe. "Recycling" is mostly a joke. Think of alternatives for plastic and engage for supporting "ecoplastic" movements.
