Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm a student who recently graduate with a degree in creative writing. My partner Cassie Eddington and I are ready to do some traveling! We're friendly people looking for friendly people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Personally, I like the community aspect of Couchsurfing. Though I haven't done much hosting, I would like to in the future. Reciprocity is cool.
Interests
My interests tend to skew toward the arts. Any arts really. I don't have much knowledge of visual art, but I like to look at it. I love to read. Poetry is really important to me, and I try to be involved with that as much as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
There's so many! When it comes to music, I am interested in a wide range of styles and genres. I like to listen to pop music as well as more obscure artists. What matters to me is that it feels as though the music has a soul. If I feel like it's really just been made to make money for someone (other than the artist, I guess), then I get skeptical pretty quickly.
Like I said, I like to read poetry a lot. My favorites books are usually those I'm reading at the moment. Right now that's Thomas Pynchon's Crying of of Lot 49, Karl Ove Knausgaard's first volume of My Struggle, and a poet names Lo Kwa Mei-en who wrote a book of poetry called Yearling.
Also, the poet Jack Spicer has a special place in my heart.
Movies. I like to watch them. I'll watch anything if I'm in the right mood. I like bad action movies such as Point Break, but I like more serious movies too. I recently watched Truffaut's The 400 Blows and I really liked that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really like the open-ended nature of this heading. It seems like an appropriate ethos for Couchsurfing. As a student and teacher these are important concepts to me. Learning, a commitment to continuing to learn, is something I'm devoted to. Learning together is how we teach, I think. It's nice to have a guide, sure, but it's nice when that guide can admit ignorance. We all have so much to learn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a friendly demeanor. A willingness to pitch in. Want to make dinner? I'm really good at doing dishes. I can also do my own thing. I like to think my impact is pretty minimal.
