Overview
About Me
I'm interested in exploring the nature, meeting people from different cultures and having some adventures! I have a passion for hiking and good deal of other outdoor sports (like kayaking and scuba diving). In summer 2010 I graduated as a wilderness guide in Joensuu, Eastern Finland, and finally, in 2016, graduated from the university in Jyväskylä.
I live with my husband and with my cat by the beautiful lake Tuomiojärvi near the city centre of Jyväskylä.
For almost four years I worked in the Natural History Museum of Central Finland until I was diagnosed with burn out and moderate depression. Now I'm looking for new employment possibilities and writing two blogs: https://tunturihullu.fi/ and http://finlandnaturally.com/
My values lie in respecting the environment, our home Earth and the species living on it.
My mission is to live a happy and interesting life. Explore the world and make it a little bit better place!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to meet new, interesting and open people, to host them or to enjoy their hospitality, make international contacts and learn from other cultures. I also have a life long dream to set off and travel around the world! During that journey we'll hopefully make many new acquaintances. Will you be one of them?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On the rainy summer 2013 I walked across the highlands in Iceland. Two weeks and roughly 300 kms in the middle of a lava desert was definitely an experience of a lifetime. :)

Teach, Learn, Share
I make no promises, but I'm easily inspired by new and exciting people. :) Before I have, among other things, taught the people I've been hosting of how to ice fish, ski and skate on natural ice. We have had wonderful time cooking together, telling stories and planning new hikes. I can share with you the knowledge I have about Jyväskylä and all the hiking routes in Finland and I wish I could learn about the nature and hiking possibilities of your country.
