ABOUT ME

Btw. I don't have the dreads or the beard in the pictures anymore. ;p

Let's start with: a bit geeky.. I like computer stuff, some other electronics and science fiction and fantasy medias. I love learning in general, especially random facts.
That said, I also like a night out downtown, and I'm open to trying anything.
I like cats (have two myself), dogs are often great as well, and I like horseback riding when I get the chance.

I don't smoke, or in any other way use, tobacco and I just don't like the smell of cigarettes and cigars.

PHILOSOPHY

I love learning. Can't imagine living without constantly learning something. So... Live and learn. :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have surfed in a few cities in America, but that's it so far. Never hosted so far either.
I picked up a hitch-hiker one day and showed her around my town that evening. She's the one who told me about Couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just a couple gatherings and a few walk-around-town. Surfed in a few cities in America. That's it for now. But CS people are the best. :D

But in addition I like to play/learn the guitar and piano. I always pick it up for a while and then stop playing for a long time and so never become any good. :p
Meeting people with different opinions/views on things. That's always fun.

Movies:
Many, many, but to name a few:
Star Wars, LOTR, The Matrix (first one) and all Monty Python's.
However there's a difference when listing favorite movies to watch for fun and favorite movies for their artistic style. The above list would be the former and the latter would include:
A Clockwork Orange and Donnie Darko.

TV shows:
Lots and lots here too, but some favorites:
The Big Bang Theory, Blackadder, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, QI, Black Books, Doctor Who, Stargate SG1/Atlantis, NOVA (and all science/nature shows), South Park.

Music:
I switch around the various metal/rock/"pop" bands, usually listening to just a few at a time and then start listening to a different set. But among those I always return to:
Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Hammerfall, Dragonforce, Kárpátia, Twisted Sister, Týr, Kiss, Hans Zimmer's film scores.
Music I'm into now (in addition to the above) includes:
Muse, Aqua, Viktoriya Yermolyeva's piano covers. Also hardstyle, dubstep, etc a lot every so often.

Books:
When I read books not commanded to by teachers I read for fun and I find the fantasy genre to be the most fun to read. Thus my favorite books are:
The Wheel of Time series, Sword of Truth series, The Last Rune series and the first 4 books of the Harry Potter series.
Though also among my current favorite books is The Xenophobe's Guide to the Icelanders.

Umm.. I can teach how to make dreadlocks, some programming, or to play basic piano or some Icelandic.
