Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Take a deep breath, eat well, drink water, do sports & just enjoy.
ABOUT ME
My evenings are spent bouldering, doing NGO work, seeing friends, going on long walks, cycling and reading. I'm a bit of a coffee geek so ask or suggest a good coffee and you will get me interested. Work in media & data consulting.
Note: I'm quite allergic to cats and dogs. Also pecan nuts, hazelnuts, almond, cherries, apples, passion fruits.
PHILOSOPHY
"My developing sense was that the foundation of a story is an emotional foundation. If a story does not work emotionally, it does not work at all." -Yann Martell (The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios)
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to attend Couchsurfing meetings in Helsinki and I surfed when I was travelling in Copenhagen a long time ago. Now mainly hostinh if the timing is right.
Centres d'intérêt
Collaborative consumption projects such as this
Evolution of online realm and its impact on socities
Sustainability
psychology and behavioral sciences
Contemporary fiction & non-fiction: behavioral economics, psychology, sosiology, marketing
Music - especially experimental music
Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Books: Lately I've read non-fiction books on psychology, copyright, online society, society in general and coffee. If I've started reading a fiction book it's more often than not a Booker prize winner, a classic or some fairly known title from a Finnish author (I'm desperately trying to start to read more books in Finnish again but not really succeeding).
Some good ones: Margaret Atwood: Blind Assassin, Yann Martel: The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios, Milan Kundera: Slowness, Helena Norberg-Hodge: Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh, Rachel Botsman: What's Mine is Yours, J.R.R. Tolkien: Roverandom, Sophocles: Oedipus the King, Moomins & Sherlock Holmes
Music: Very all-round but if I go to gigs it's right now more often than not jazz, experimental music (classical, jazz) or something I don't even know about before. But more in detail: http://www.last.fm/user/arathali
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
- Visiting townships near Cape Town on my recent trip to South Africa was a quite memorable experience.
- In 2014 I was a camp councilor for something like 13 teenagers (15 year olds) on a week long camp where I facilitated talks on all matters of life and society affecting them. It was an amazing experience to see them really start to think about things more deeply and talk about them as the week progressed.
