Overview
About Me
My dad never really distinguished between truth and tale whilst raising me and my siblings. My sister came to school and insisted that our father had been a general in the Vietnam war, which would have been an impressive feat for a 14-year old.
I didn't inherit my father's vivid imagination, but I share his fondness for discussion and stories, his constant travelling and curiosity for the world. I'm always up for a new conversation and a new experience with a new friend.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Understanding and getting to know another person is probably the best sensation in the world. It doesn't really matter who a person is, but merely that it's a person with which you are able to share experiences, thoughts, dreams and misadventures. Couchsurfing offers an excellent platform to facilitate this.
Interests
Parties, politics, vegetarian cooking, cinema, photography and literature - preferably mixed together like a great jambalaya.
Music, Movies, and Books
In general I like anything that a critic might describe as concerning "the human condition". Freedom by Jonathan Franzen fits into that category, but it's a quite a wide genre so throw anything that concerns the misery or well-being of people in there and you'll be fine.
Other books that I like: A Clockwork Orange, No Country for Old Men, Brokeback Mountain, The Road, 1984, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" and so on.
As for cinema I like Requiem for a Dream, 12 Angry Men, Amelie, Brokeback Mountain, The Lives of Others, Rushmore (And Wes Anderson in general). Have watched quite a lot of Werner Herzog movies as well. Currently very keen on 70s movies.
