About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be, or not to be -- that is the question

ABOUT ME

LAST UPDATED: 2014.04.11
I'm an Asian-American female looking to see the world when given the opportunity. I recently got married to a guy who's the complete opposite of me... and yet isn't. I have an interest in medicine and forensics as well as other random things here and there, but I currently work full time as a manager. I tend to be a bit quiet/shy when we first meet but it's only because I don't know you that well; it will change. I'm a bit scatterbrained and slightly awkward but I mean well. I'm fairly easygoing and possess an open mind. I am vegetarian. No, I will not get offended if you ingest meat before me as long as you don't try to get me to eat it. On that note, I love food (just look at the photos I uploaded if you don't believe me). I'm not the most feminine person out there but neither am I the epitome of a tomboy. I am looking for ways to maintain an active/healthy lifestyle in a car-oriented city with a desk job as my occupation, so I just started Bikram Yoga. I love challenges as long as they're realistic. I'm a unique amalgamation of whatever takes my fancy at any given point in time.

You'll hopefully come to find this out yourself. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to learn more. Life is a constant series of lessons (and a game at times) and I love learning new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

More like how I plan to participate. I've returned to the States to get my Real Life back on track, but as I just got married, I'm afraid I'm not available to host. However, I do welcome any chance I can get to hang out. I haven't spent a lot of time in Houston and this is one of the few times I have to do so and get to know my city instead of the world. :) I can't wait to get to know more people through here once I get the chance!

P.S.
I also love exchanging snail mail with pen pals from around the world so if you're up for that, PM me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've mostly just slept over at friends' places, but I was given a great opportunity to couchsurf up in Austin recently. It was amazing, as though I did live there for 4 years, my Host lived in an area I was only vaguely familiar with - not to mention the fact that it was a great first experience. THEN I met up with someone from here and I'd like to think we hit it off pretty well that we met up several times after. I hope to have more experiences like those through here!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a 15-day hiking and camping trip across the lower ranges of the Himalayas with the Tibetans while studying abroad in Beijing. I encountered some of the most difficult moments of my life -- but it was breathtaking. I also taught English in Korea for a year in 2011 and I studied abroad in Beijing in 2008; I think that worth mentioning as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

EVERYTHING! If you want specifics and I had to pick just one to start with...

My entire family's vegetarian (which has since included me as well) so I do not know how to cook with meat. Having said that, I will show you that being a vegetarian does not make me have the diet of a rabbit, thanks much. ;)
