Overview
About Me
Hi I'm Si Rong, a full-time environmental engineering student from Singapore. I'm a fun loving explorer who deeply cherishes cultural nuances of the people I meet and the countries I visit. Off the beaten path is my preferred route of travel :)
Currently in Hamburg, Germany for a student exchange from Apr to Aug 2016
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling and meeting people from new places. In new places, I like fully immersing myself in the culture, history and language to learn the most I can about the place and I feel interacting with locals provides an authentic experience.
In my travels, I've come also across people from all over and shared meaningful experiences with loads of great people so I'd like to use couchsurfing as an opportunity to meet like-minded people who are keen to learn and share alike
Interests
Recent interests: I'm really interested in the history of the Middle East (Israel-Palestine in particular) and how its political climate has been shaped over the past few decades. I believe there's so much more to what's reported on the news and I'd like the opportunity to learn more about it.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English and Thai and I know a thing or two about Chinese.
Would love to share my culture, the many queer and quirky facts about Singapore as well as Singaporean food/life/people.
I embrace any questions on the stereotypes you might have heard about Singapore, Chinese people or Asians in general.
Humour is my favourite means of overcoming the boundaries and initial discomfort of sharing cultural and ethnic differences, so please feel free to ask anything you want to know and we can engage in a friendly and light-hearted sharing session :)
