About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn German and join the community in Switzerland.
ABOUT ME
I recently finished my master's at the University of Alaska Fairbanks then followed my husband to Zurich. I have been living in Switzerland since early March where I am vary slowly learning German and exploring the area. We are in a big shared house so can't currently host but will soon move to our own apartment with a few other like-minded friends where I hope we can start hosting again!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have greatly enjoyed my few stays! Met some wonderful people in Santiago, Chile and stayed with someone in Anchorage who I ended up living with for a few months and we've become lifelong friends. Our flat regularly hosted folks from all over the world and it was great to get to know so many travelers. I hope to see a few now that I'm living in Europe!
I love Couchsurfing for the chance to live and interact in a more global community.

Teach, Learn, Share
Well, at one job I gave talks about bats so if you care to learn about bats:
-There are over 1,200 different species of bats around the world; they represent 20% of the world's mammal species.
-There are three species of vampire bats. They are found in Central and South America.
-You are more likely to catch the plague than you are to get rabies from a bat in the US
-There is a disease called White Nose Syndrome affecting hibernating bats in the northeastern US and Canada with a 90-100% mortality rate
