About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have a creative bone in my body.

ABOUT ME

I'm a guy in my mid-20s jaded by a bad economy and lack of appealing careers. Floating would be better than jaded; as my muse has materialized in recent times. Been in this college town since I turned eighteen. Every time I get ready to leave some project(if I'm lucky) or girl(if I'm stupid) keeps me from going. There is a lot you can see out here in the Jackson Purchase if you give it a chance.

PHILOSOPHY

I strive towards hedonism but not gluttony. 'Hedonism' I define as the pursuit of new pleasurable experiences. 'Gluttony' I define as the continued indulgence in the same experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I take more than I give. Once my apartment is clean, that might change.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None through this site. Personally I have visited some friends at good distance on a shoestring budget by surfing their or friends couches. That is how I visited Chicago, West Palm Beach, Owensboro, Atlanta, rural Missouri, and Paris(Tennessee of course!).

Interests

Board Games(Avalon Hill, eurogames, oddities from other eras)
Electronic Gaming(although I stopped participating in anything new about 5 years ago. never a console person)
The occasional jam session. When people sleep on my couch it happens much more often.
Painting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Literary genre's I especially enjoy:
-19th Century Russian novelists(especially Chekov and Tolstoy)
-New Wave Science Fiction(such as Dick, Herbert, Vonnegut). Strangely enough I have little liking for Asimov or Bradbury, but enjoy Heinlein.
-post-War French literature, which I feel Sarte and Bardjavel fall into.

Film:
- Stanley Kubrik, Andrei Tartovsky, Darren Aronofsky
- 70s directing in general

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finally deciding to use my wall as a canvas. Then coming out of the trance and seeing the wall finished.
