About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live long and prosper.
ABOUT ME
I'm a computer programmer.
I was born in Montreal, and have lived here my entire life. I like this place, I'll gladly show you around ! I intend to stay here for as long as I live.
BUT that doesn't mean I don't want to see the world. Quite the contrary, actually. I'm very enthusiast, open and curious by nature and this drives me to learn, discover and try...
This being said, I'm such a couch-potato sometimes ! XD
PHILOSOPHY
"L'humanité n'est pas un état à subir. C'est une dignité à conquérir." -Vercors
"One of these days is none of these days." -English saying
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been hosting quite a few couch-surfers since I registered on this site and had a great experience everytime. It's so nice to meet new people and share our experiences !
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None ! But one got to start somewhere.
Update : Oh, well, that changed just recently when I received my first couch-surfers. It's been very cool and more are on the way. :-D
Update again : Just great ! I hope I'll get on the road soon to live the same experience somewhere else. XD
Update again bis : I did couchsurf in Vancouver and had a great time. I like this site. :-)
Update again ter : Just couchsurfed in Europe and also met many fellow surfers at various meetings all around the place . This site is building the global village, it's making people from all around the globe closer in a very real and human way. Let's fight prejudice and misunderstanding by just being humans hanging together, and when possible, living together for a little while.
Interests
Science, technology, philosophy, social justice, nature, people. A little bit of everything really.
- beer
- electronics
- technology
- computer science
- science
- social justice
Music, Movies, and Books
Electro, classical and French singers. (Don't try to find a logic in this.)
Repertoire, animation, science-fiction.
And way too many books, can't believe I read all that. A lot of science-fiction, some Russian authors and many French authors. Lot of scientific stuff in other fields, I like to learn about new stuff.
I really like comics and graphic novels too (is there a word that would translate bande-dessinée more appropriately ?). It's kind of a childish passion that I haven't gotten over. :-P
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe I've had only boring moments in my life, that's possible, but I have the impression that the moments that have left the greatest impression on me either didn't exist or were a result of the perfection of the instant. Is dreaming seeing ? Is staying still, doing ? Let's walk to a remote part of the laurentian forest in winter, and you may see/do that too.
Teach, Learn, Share
Computers. Linux. Electronics. Stuff like that. I can repair your broken devices or computers in exchange for a beer. XD
What I Can Share with Hosts
We share all the common household items. Don't buy by staple foods, like pasta or rice. Don't buy olive oil or butter or any spices that we don't already have. All that is shared here and you'd have access to it. You're basically just a new flatmate: you contribute what you want, bu the essentials are provided.
You can use the dryer, the washing machine, the oven or the fridge., as well as the video game consoles or TV. Same goes for the Internet and everything we share as roommates.
The motto: do as you would do at home, no more and no less
