Overview
About Me
Life is an adventure. I have met some amazing people, learned about different cultures and had a blast doing it all. Done a lot of solo travel. I never turn down a beach or a sunset. Would one day love to live in the Caribbean.
I think architecture and history is amazing. I like to cook but the truth is I burn most everything.
I think honesty is the most attractive thing about a person.
I've love to laugh, be creative and truly find ways to make old things come to life.
I grew up in Norway but have spent the last 35 years in the USA.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started out as a travel agent and have been lucky to stay in fabulous hotels across the world. As I get older my views and interests have changed and having more personal experiences, meeting new people and learning about our amazing world up close and in person is now my focus when I travel. I enjoy culture, people and history. I hope to make relationships that are lasting enough so you might come visit us sometime!
Interests
I love to hike and explore the outdoors, explore a new city, new cultures and amazing architecture. Enjoy trying local food and beer. Always happy if I make local friends when I go somewhere. I like to read but don't always find the time. I like skiing but is not very good at it. Like a challenge and don't turn down an opportunity to learn something new.
I enjoy listening to people share about their upbringing and culture. There is so much to learn from others and I'm always interested in local foods and arts.
I enjoy music that speaks to me from any genre but also find quietness a gift.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching silversmiths in Bali, Rainforest exploration in Costa Rica, Spending time volunteering in Kenya, Riding elephants in Thailand, Deep-sea fishing in Florida, Doing glacier walks in Norway. Maybe the one leaving the biggest impression was spending time in one of Africa's largest slums. However, I'm more interested in hearing you tell me about a place that I might add to my bucket list!
Teach, Learn, Share
Love to tell you about all the amazing places to visit on the coast of Maine. This state is amazing and has so much to offer. I could cook for you but honestly you might not survive. I'd rather buy you a beer, bring you something from Maine or invite you on a hike.
I could show you how to knit or tell you how to refinish an old piece of furniture.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm easy going, will definitely keep the place clean. Absolutely no drama. I'm good at making people laugh and don't take myself to seriously. I love pets and will definitely walk your dog or pet your cat!
