About Me

"Do more of what makes you happy"
A few of the things on my happy-list includes being barefoot, dancing, being in or on water, children's laughter, and of course, traveling! :D

I'm the kind of person that prefers parks and the beauty of nature to museums. I'm not a big fan of zoos, but I like watching animals up close!

I would rather be active myself than watch sports. I prefer watching friends to professionals. That being said, one of my coolest experiences was watching a world cup soccer game between Mexico and France at Zocalo, the presidental plaza in Mexico City. And of course, the party after Mexico's win! If I do watch sports, I always engage :)

I like music and musicians. Calm live music is better than crowded techno dancefloors - even though I do enjoy that too from time to time.

I would rather eat cheap, local food off the streets than going to a fancy gourmet restaurant. I don't really cook, but if you do, I would be more than happy to help out with what I can and then "adios" the dishes - extra cred if you recognize the quote!

I don't drink beer, and not a lot of coffee, although a good latte might save the day. That's why I have a coffee machine :)

Wine makes me happy, and tequila is dangerous. But I try to limit my drinking as I don't really need it to have fun, and I prefer spending my money on other things. That's maybe why I have a limited knowledge of my city's night scene.

I like to play, and I don't mind doing active, a bit extreme things. But I am afraid of hights. You will never see me bungy jumping - although I have tried paragliding and loved it, and would absolutely love to go parachuting at some point! :D

I try to collect moments, not things, and one of the side effects of that philosophy is that I don't have a TV. I find I don't need it. In fact, I need to be without! That doesn't mean I don't watch TV shows and movies, I just do it when it suits me, and I just watch what I want to watch, not what brain dead entertainment is on at the time.

Also, if I need to define myself, I consider myself bisexual. I find the gay scene interesting, but it's no necessity. And either way, I'm here for the travel, not for dating or hooking up, so it shouldn't really matter :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a budget traveller myself, and I like the idea of offering others a free place to stay when in my part of the world. I don't travel for touristy experiences, but to get to know a place, and I find I get a more genuine sense of the culture if I stay with locals, and I try to offer that in return to my own guests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing at a viewpoint overlooking La Paz and the thunderstorm roaring over the Altiplano!

Teach, Learn, Share

After a while I have learned a few things about cultural differences, and will be happy to share that knowledge :)

I do like to learn things, and love to get other people's perspective on life :) And I would love to learn how to cook.. :P
