About Me

I have metastased breast cancer, so my availability depends partly on my health status.
As I live alone, I could host one woman, maybe two women.
I live in the north of the city, adjacent to a little park and close to a little lake. With the underground/tube/metro, you can easily reach the city center.
I work full time as an employed translator, mostly from home, so you'd have to arrange most meals on your own, but I can tell you where to get the cheapest pizza in Berlin, and maybe about some ways to get free food. There are three bakeries (two with café) and two supermarkets nearby. You can use my microwave. Maybe we can have some breakfast together, and on the weekend we could also cook together.
I could show you the city or we could make a trip to the beautiful surrounding Brandenburg region on the weekend and we could go to some interesting free event on some evening, although I am no longer a disco freak. I am kind of a specialist in discovering great free things!
Due to my cancer, I have a disability card, with which I and an accompanying person can get reductions in museums and the like.
If you are interested in religions, there are wonderful ways to experience all world religions and many minor paths in Berlin.
If your outer travels are also inward journeys, I would love to take you on some tours and to some places that could give you impulses for inner growth - like the Berlin Wall and the conquest of the former Death Stripe by nature, the Holocaust Memorial where you can gain a quite new understanding of space, and the former airfield of Tempelhof with its freedom-induced vastness.
If you like, I could also introduce you to some friends of mine, so we can have a nice time together and you can meet some more Berliners!
I have a room with a guest bed.
As I don't give my key away, I will have to be home when you come home.
If your arrival time does not coincide with my working time, I'd pick you up at the airport. Otherwise I'll be home when you arrive.
I have a huge spiritual book collecting, including books (and some CDs) in English - you are free to read them as long as you are here! So, if you like, you can combine sightseeing with elements of a spiritual retreat.
Up to now I have visited this page only rarely, but this will change!
