About Me

Hi I’m Cin! I'm an old school couchsurfers / not looking for somewhere to sleep for free.
I want to explore and understand, I love meeting people this way cause you get to know sides that might be impossible to see otherwise! Traveling for me is more about meeting people than actually see monuments or taking selfies in front of famous spots: I want to discover what's under the carpet of this incredibly vast country I've always heard of in movies and music.

I live life with irony, always. I'm veeery unproblematic, low maintenance, chilled person / hype energy :)

Formerly a graphic designer and illustrator, I've left the office life years ago to pursue a more sustainable, happiness-oriented and abundant lifestyle (no police of any kind here, judgement is beyond my capacities, I apply kinda extreme boundaries to myself but "not breaking everyone's ball" with my point of view, very chilled here). I love mushrooms, fermentation and interactions of bacterias. I'm into permaculture and I try to apply its principles to my life BUT i'm a really pragmatic person (no tree hugging for me). I'm a doer, I'm an introvert that loves deep conversations, i don't like the spotlight too much... but i do look like an artist ready for the stage.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been using Couchsurfing since... always! I love to see places through the eyes and stories of locals.

This was a group account that me, Cin, used with my besties to travel around the world.
With Couchsurfing we've made the best memories of places, living as locals everywhere... plus meeting loads of interesting people :D we've been keeping contact and giving back a cosy place on the couch at ours :) It is an open world that seeks understanding and satisfactions for how beautifully different and similar we are. That's what we want to build.

Music, Movies, and Books

velvet goldmine, lost in translation, human nature, mustang, lady vengeance, juno, woody allen's movies, wes anderson's movies
fargo, mr robot, transparent, black mirror, utopia
gonjasufi, the cure, the smiths, björk, four tet, caribou, modeselektor, bonobo, chemical brothers, massive attack, pearl jam, soundgarden, alice in chains, metronomy, grimes, nine inch nails, depeche mode, talking heads, ariel pink and too much more... music is always on!

Been a novel freak in the past, then loved them essays to feed my curiosity, but always end up choosing experience over reading about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

making mozzarella.
seeing the Cure live.
living in a country where my skin colour is a minority.
building a wall of glass bottles, a basic compost toilet and solar shower.
2 interrails.
centering clay on a pottery wheel.
throwing myself in situations like a child: not looking for danger, but to enjoy being off my comfort zone
seeing sunrise and dawn at the same time.
growing my own food.
living off the grid.
managing a small business.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sustainable tricks, I can use power tools, I can fix stuff ;) I'm into regenerative agriculture, i'll be very happy to talk about it.
We can cook together, I would like to try and talk a bit of swedish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

lots of laughs, many stories (based on reality) from different worlds... I'm part of the 1.9% of caucasian origin population of a tiny island, summer all year long, flowers always blooming. Slow but steady. This can help to understand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=068AFYvd58E
