Life is ripe and ready and I want to bite in, let the juice roll down my chin.

ABOUT ME

I'm 19, taking a semester off before heading off to college in the Spring. I spent last year doing literacy tutoring at elementary school in Boston (MA), as a member of AmeriCorps. I enjoyed that spectacularly, but am now back to the Midwest from whence I came. I hope to hit the road soon, though.

Urban exploring, tree climbing, armchair philosophizing, poetry, hiking, NPR, meeting new people.. teaching (or better yet inspiring) children, trying to learn new instruments or languages, learning almost anything really, staying informed, cooking, running, creating ...and so on.

I like movies that make me think as well as make me feel, that touch me or inspire me, and maybe leave me a bit confused. A few off the top of my head: Trainspotting, The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Everything is Illuminated, Swimming Pool

I love music, listening to and making it. I can appreciate most any type as long as there's musicianship in it. A few new favorites are Ben Sollee and Andrew Bird.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Nature is amazing in most of it's manifestations, but I was completely blown away this summer by the splendor of sun-drenched meadows and grandeur of the steep climes --and the experience of being able to be so immersed, hiking hours from civilization.
