CURRENT MISSION
TRAVEL THE WORLD, Learn all I can
ABOUT ME
I am from a small community in Nova Scotia, Canada, where my family still lives and I continue to call home even though I do leave there often. While at university I worked at the Campus Pub as a bartender and loved it, I've also bartended many other places around Canada and the world, but I now work as a Banquet Manager for a Restaurant and Tour Boat company. During the summers before now I worked for a Treeplanting company on the western side of Canada, I love the lifestyle of living in the woods, working outdoors and being with amazing people. I finished university and decided to take a year off to travel before I decided what to do with my life, so Asia was my destination and I had an amazing experience all around, couchsurfing was certainly a huge part of that and the people I met. Now I am calling Eastern Canada my home, I'm working on my career in the service industry and exploring my own region, but still have upcoming trip plans, my winters are slower for work so that allows me to take time for adventure, like 3 weeks backpacking around Peru, a 5 week trip living the van life in Patagonia, this coming winter to be determined.... Maybe back to South America or Central, or Africa... Who knows!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I've had great experiences with couchsurfing, all my hosts have been amazing, it's the greatest way to truly experience an area and learn from other travelers... I've always depended on the kindness of strangers :)
Interests
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do/ main goals in life, I have done a fair share of traveling and plan to continue for the rest of my life. I enjoy camping, hiking, surfing, music festivals, swimming, skiing, snowshoeing.. anything involving the outdoors really. I love to eat, checking out all the new foods in an area is a huge part of the travel experience for me. I love to cook and always up for a few beers. I'm a complete bookworm and love all kinds of music.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Mostly comedies, Sci-Fi and action adventure, but also like many other types
Music: Mostly Classic Rock, Indie Rock, Folk, Hard Rock.. but also like mostly anything
Books: This list could go on forever, I like to read anything I can get my hands on. My taste is varied, I loved Harry Potter to no end. Biographies (especially musicians) are great. Historical fiction entertains me (Philippa Gregory is my guilty pleasure). I've read pretty much everything in Oprah's Book Club, though I didn't like all of them, she does have damn good taste. Gabriel Garcia Marquez is amazing. Kurt Vonnegut is awesome. Mitch Albom is great. Every traveler should read Bill Bryson and J. Maarten Troost. I also love to recommend books so ask away. Currently reading Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series, which is amazing. Did I mention I'm a complete book nut?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching a meteor shower from the top of a mountain in British Columbia, Canada. It was like the heavens were raining down on me.
