Overview
About Me
Swedish, undergraduate, language geek, music lover - that's me.
Spent a few years working, traveling and studying languages at various languages schools in Brazil and France. I just got a bachelor's degree in foreign languages, so I guess languages are my life now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel, see new places, meet new people. So far I've had great experiences, and I've met some amazing people that I would've never met otherwise. What more could you ask ?
Interests
I play the drums, and I also (like to) sing. I occasionally write music. In any case, music is a huge passion for me.
My second great passion in life, and the one I've chose to pursue professionally, is languages. I'm a huge language nerd, seriously. If you don't stop me, I'll go on for hours about shit like Indo-European cognates. I've slowly started learning Greek through friends, and I absolutely love it.
Other than that, I'm obviously into traveling and discovering new cultures, especially discovering food and drinks. I like good beer, but I hate IPA. Sue me, beer snobs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Shantaram, Kafka on the Shore, Harbour, Heliopolis
Music: Opeth, The Mars Volta, Tanya Tagaq, Deathspell Omega, Jamiroquai, A Bossa Elétrica, The Dillinger Escape Plan, 16 Horsepower, Cult of Luna, Tingsek, Stromae, Dr Dre, Venetian Snares, Agnes Obel etc. My sister makes me listen to afro trap, and I openly secretly like it. I used to listen to metal exclusively. Then I emerged from the mist of my teenage stubbornness and realised that music is good, no matter the genre.
Movies: Tropa de Elite 1 & 2 (with the sequel pulling off the rare feat of being better than the first one), Blood Diamond, Lord of the Rings, Captain Fantastic
Series: The Sopranos, The Wire, South Park, Community, Narcos
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sleeping in a canyon next to a waterfall in Brazil was pretty tight.
Saw Opeth performing my favourite album live, from start to finish. Would recommend.
Saw wild orangutans in Borneo. Can die happy now.
Was received with open arms in a Maori marae. They didn't know me, but they fed me, gave me a place to sleep, got me drunk and told me about their tribe.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a language geek, so it's my pleasure to teach you anything I know in any of the languages (or linguistics branches) that I know, as well as to learn a few words or phrases in your language. Other than that, I'm always happy to talk about Sweden.
Share your culture with me. Especially your food!
