Overview
About Me
My life has always revolved around shredding: snowboarding, mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, riding dirtbikes, etc. Surfing was my first love and, after too many years in the mountains and away from the waves, it's back in the priority position for awhile. I've been living out of my van along the West Coast for the past three months. Before that, I was in Bellingham, Washington for a year. I've also spent almost a decade in California's Sierra Nevada mountains (Mammoth Lakes & Lake Tahoe). I grew up in Southern California, but I'm not proud of it, so please don't hold that against me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I signed up a while back out of curiosity, but wasn't doing any couchsurfing at the time. I just bought a one way ticket to Peru to surf and explore until March and numerous people have suggested I start using this resource, so here I am.
Interests
At risk of being redundant... surfing. I also have a quickly-growing interest in yoga and eating healthy that's stemmed from starting to feel my age and the years of impact I've subjected my body to through adventure sports. I love craft beer, podcasts, live music, good conversation and nature.

Music, Movies, and Books
Indie, classic rock, 90s/underground hip hop, some EDM and a number of other genres that I'm not hip enough to classify.
Cormac McCarthy and anything that can teach me something or inspire me. I listen to podcasts and read articles more than I read books, though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went back to school at 25 and paid cash for college while working and digging myself out of $50,000 of debt. I now have a degree, zero debt and a far different perspective on life than most people do when they finish school.
Teach, Learn, Share
When I was 17 I worked as a snowboard instructor. I'm pretty damn good at teaching people how to do any of the sports that I do.
It seems like every vehicle I get is a few years older than the last one and they keep getting easier to maintain and fix myself. We can learn just about anything we want on YouTube, including how to remove the engine from our vehicle.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a good cook and always stoked to trade recipes and techniques. I'm also tidy, fairly-well-organized and always down to pitch in on the clean-up phase. I'm pretty handy, too. If you've got something that needs fixing, we can probably figure it out together. And I love to hustle--I once made more money selling parking in front of my house in Mammoth on weekends and holidays than I paid in rent the entire year I lived there.
