About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Having fun and meeting people

ABOUT ME

I am a student based at the University of Alberta currently studying in Istanbul at Bogazici University. I hope to travel around Turkey and the surounding countries as much as possible during my stay in this part of the world!

PHILOSOPHY

Experientialism- Experience is the source of knowledge

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't ever hosted anyone, but enjoy meeting people and really appreciate when people take the time to show me around wherever they're from, just as I enjoy showing people where I am from.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not too much couch surfing experience but I'm eager to get more!

Interests

There are very few things I am not interested in, or if nothing else, at least curious about. I think that everyone has something interesting to say that I'd like to hear and suppose I am mostly interested in meeting people and learning from them. Beyond that, I enjoy travelling and spontaneous activities. Hitch-hiking is great and I'd like to do it more than I have. At home in Canada, I try and spend as much time in the Rocky Mountains as I can and play as much hockey in winter as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, a whole lot of things. For books, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Nabokov's writing, Kafka is good. Music, I guess everything from The Beatles to Beastie Boys and lots in between. I generally like movies that aren't formulaic, but don't really watch enough movies to say.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the Canadian Rocky Mountains are about as amazing as anything I've ever seen and I get to spend a lot of time there, so it's great!

Teach, Learn, Share

As for teaching, I don't know if I could do much of that, but I've studied ecology in university and could maybe pass along some of that knowledge. Also, I'm always happy to talk about where I'm from. I think I could probably learn more from other people though and am eager to do so.
