About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To have some fun, meet some new people and expand my horizons
ABOUT ME
I've lived water access only with solar panels and a wind generator, and grew up in a large city. I live in BC, in Courtenay in the Comox Valley as I love the bush, mountains, warmer water and old and new friends calling me. I have a private practice teaching energy healing, (EFT aka Emotional Freedom Techniques) and mediation/conscious communication techniques. I mainly support adults who were abused as children to let the past go and create life the way they want it now. By the way, I do not live in Cumberland, although I get my mail there. I live on the north end of Courtenay. So if you are looking for a Cumberland couch, keep looking.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm a positive thinker, left leaning, environmentalist, feminist, humanist who's learning how to manifest a fabulous life. Positive Change is Possible!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've told all of my friends and most of the people I've encountered about this wonderful organization and now I'm a host. I also wrote an article about my experiences and other hospitality options that has been published in a few places.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was a WWOOF host and spent three months in Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico and Guatemala where I had the pleasure of surfing three great couches. Upon my return to Canada I met two wonderful women hosts in BC who have, I'm delighted to say, become friends. For a while I was living in a big tent and then a small cabin but now I'm living in a duplex just outside of Courtenay BC.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a child of the 60's so that is my music but I love most blues, jazz, folk, rock... I love to read good novels and strong women detective stories and lots of positive, informative non fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I finally learned how to scuba dive in Panama and I'm very pleased that I've done so as it's been on my to do list for a long time.
I also spent some time on an aerial course and overcame my fear of heights.
I found the people of the highlands of Guatemala to be amongst the friendliest and most beautifully and colourfully dressed I've ever encountered. The fact that they were so friendly is particularly amazing given how they've been treated by their government and other foreigners. My latest fave trip was to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. I went for a month with my partner but we'd both love to go back. It was way too short of a trip. The more we saw the more we wanted to see.
I also supported my grandmother and father during the last years of their lives and in the process learned a great deal about living and dying.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a massage background and know a bit about living off the grid and organic gardening.
I know several energy healing techniques including EFT, aka Emotional Freedom Techniques or Meridian Tapping which has quickly resulted in some amazing healing for folks with PTSD and abuse related issues.
I particularly welcome visitors who are computer savvy and can teach me something new!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A double bed, or a mattress on the floor, bedding and the use of the house.
As I work from home, sometimes I will have to ask folks to leave the house.
