ABOUT ME

I work at one of those Escape Rooms, where they lock you in a room, and you have an hour to escape through solving puzzles and such. It's a great gig. My responsibilities consist of hosting guests, spying on people via security cam, writing the lore, designing puzzles and rooms, building said puzzles and rooms, and whatever else my boss wants me to do because it's always something badass.

I do improv and sketch comedy at The New Movement theater. I go out to see shows. I'm trying to learn how to play the trumpet well enough to join a band. I brew beer, but it has been a while since my last batch. I'm trying to write a bad musical, and you can help me if you want! I play video games. I ride my bike good. I write simple and compound sentences.

PHILOSOPHY

Oh man. There's a lot to say, but I'll just keep it short and sweet. I'll be your friend no matter what. That should imply enough to get me by for now.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and surf and entertain. I have a couple of guitars (electric and acoustic), a ukulele, a trumpet, and a trombone. I'm not very good at any of them, but we can still all jam. They exist for your enjoyment, so enjoy them! Also, it's super fun to get drunk and try to write a terrible song together! I have several pieces of "art" that I'm proud of. They consist of a "lizard fighting a robot table", a "giant Gundam head painting", a "half-finished arcade cabinet", and a "Huge World Map Indicating Where All My Couchsurfers Are From" . Are you hungry? Let's get a big ol' bag of crawfish (if it's in season) and some beers and watch a shitty movie back at my place! Screw that, you say? Then let's go to the bayou! It's really close to my place. Meet you there in 10 minutes! I'll be the one catching all the Pokemon!... I might have missed the point of this section... Oh! I got some. Since I do a lot around the city (improv comedy, theater, et cetera) I'm pretty good at pointing you in the right direction to find some fun that you wouldn't usually discover on your own. I'll take you with me to all the fun things if I can (can=afford). I can make you an itinerary or we can go blindly adventuring and discover something new together. In all seriousness, I love this city so much, and I love having people visit. Literally, hosting surfers is one of my greatest damned sweet ass joys! I'll do all that's in my power to make sure you have an amazing experience in New Orleans! I only ask for forgiveness if I can't always join you. Sometimes I have to stay at home. But you're still awesome!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hitchhiking across the United States. I've gone naked mudsliding along the coast of Nova Scotia (sexiest sentence ever written). I traveled around the Western United States in an Airstream for 4 whole months with one of my favorite people in the goddamn world whom I met through this website! I've met the most amazing, open people. They're not just people that showed me a great time, but folks that I'd like to keep in touch with and see again. And, even if we never see eachother again, I'll always remember them. All the people that helped me make this crazy journey have my fullest gratitude. Damn couchsurfing, you rule!

Interessen

I'm interested in anything and everything. Things I've never experienced are at the top, but most importantly things that happen on a whim and by accident. Be it going on a bizarre adventure with a stranger or drinking too much and missing your stop on the train so you have to sleep in somebody's backyard next to their pool then your Zune mp3 player falls out of your pocket breaking! And, before you ask, Yes! I had a Zune, and it was awesome!! Offer an experience to me, and I'll do it.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I do improv comedy nearly every week, and I used do stand-up back in the day. I don't do it anymore, though. One night, while performing in New York, Jim Gaffigan came to the club I was performing at. He then decided to perform as well. Not only did I get to meet him, I got to perform WITH him! It was a fantastic experience. The only downside was that I had to FOLLOW his act. Either way, I was too starstruck to let it get me down. But also, it sucked....

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can help you learn the basics of playing the trumpet, piano, and guitar. I love to write, share my writings, and read what others have written. We'll do a small workshop. Hell, I'll teach you whatever you feel is worth knowing... that I can teach. I can teach you how to get a ride hitchhiking across America. I can even give you the basics of doing improv comedy, and if you're REALLY adventurous I can get you booked at a stand-up comedy open mic! We'll work on your set together. Big warning: You will suck your first time! Also, we love to play board games down here. PLEASE PLAY WITH ME!!! I also have a lot of experience doing film, so I can teach you about voice over work, editing, animation, special effects, a bunch of software that's used. We could even shoot something if you want! I have all the film equipment needed to do whatever you want. Maybe I should do something with all that stuff...

And I can't stress enough that you DO NOT have to come to any of my shows. It's, seriously, not a big deal at all! I perform all the time. Plus, you're visiting New Orleans, I know there a bunch of things that you actually NEED and SHOULD see over a comedy show your host is in. In fact, I recommend it. You have a limited time to enjoy New Orleans, you don't have to waste it trying to appease me. Have fun! Go kick ass! I'll try to meet you after the show. We'll have a blast! I just want you to have a fun time during your stay. But, if you could please, not tell me you're going to see my show then not come. It's not a big deal, and I fully understand that things come up. I just get super excited when people say they're coming, and it is always a huge disappointment when they are a no-show. And no, I'm not going to leave a negative review or be passive aggressive for the rest of your stay haha. I'm not an asshole! I just wanted to put this on my profile, so surfers have a better understanding of how I am. All I care about is you all having the best time in New Orleans as possible, and if we could pull that off without getting my hopes up that would be super and rad. Super Rad!

I love sharing! I can share my kick ass comic book collection, and show you how to be cool too! I can give you the basics of trumpet/guitar/ukulele, or if you know one of them, we can play together! I can teach you how to sew. I can show you how easy it is to animate cartoons on the computer. We can even use my mini recording studio I put up in my room and put together a short!! Or make a song! Or anything!!! But most importantly, I'll share with you my board games. That... is.... the... most.... important.... thing. Board games. Board.... games.... BOARD GAMES!!!
