ABOUT ME

I'm a young adult trying to make myself something. I like to participate in almost everything - protests, developmental aid projects, politics, music etc. I guess you could say I play guitar and bass, and you could even say that I'm a musician. I like reading books, and just reading stuff. Labels, content lists, books, magazines. Kafka, Nick Hornby, Zadie Smith, Orwell. The classics.

I also like some sports - cycling and basketball, and maybe Oerkkipallo (ask me about it, or don't). I hate walking as a form of transportation, as well as running, but as a form of getting from point A to point B, it sure as hell beats walking.

So in short, I'm a music/activity kind of guy. And most of all, I love having fun. I must also warn all CouchSurfers, I, like many Finns, enjoy silence some times but most of the time I'm very social. But then again, don't we all enjoy some silence some times?
I really like Mastodon, so I think that tells something about me. And btw, if you're into phonetics, we're gonna get along just fine.

My girlfriend says I like everything and everybody.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life like it's going out of style. I treat other people as I would like them to treat me. I share my wealth with others. That kind of stuff. I have much to learn, and so do you - pay attention.

Buddhist philosophy? Henry Rollins-ism? Zen???
Mutual respect is also very important to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started with CouchSurfing in 2008 with some friends, just to see what would happen and oh wow. All the people, all those stories. All the nice times and all the smiles.

CouchSurfing across continents is mind blowing and fun at the same time.

Eight years later my CS experience is simply amazing.

Centres d'intérêt

Books. Magazines. Music. Politics. Activism. Cycling. MOVIES! Linguistics and the English language also catch my attention. Phonetics is a kind of a hobby for me as well. Basketball. Noam Chomsky. I also like videogaming!!! PS. I like reading stuff, like Crystall skull, berserker or Sparta on Wikipedia.

I also enjoy beer - microbrewed or otherwise. And eating, but then again who doesn't like eating?

Too many to list. But just to mention something: The Clash, Frank Turner, John Legend, Black Flag, Blacklisted, Slayer, KT Tunstall, Propagandhi, HAIM... Mastodon's pretty awesome as well. And my not so secret shame-liking is Taylor Swift. Cancer Bats, Blackstar, Common, Roots, Five Corners Quintet, Have Heart, Goldfinger, Rick James, Al Green, Will Smith .... Just come and see my record collection! Music tastes swing in each and every direction, and it moves like water in a river.

About books. I like romantic stories, or sort of romantic stories. I'm a romantic person. 1984, White Teeth, Things Fall Apart, Half of a Yellow Sun, Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy, Hills Like White Elephants etc. When talking about movies, I'm really a everything goes type of guy - but mostly I like comic book filmatizations, interesting and quirky drama, good and bad comedies.. Almost anything is good for me. A short fiction class made me like Denis Johnson and Raymond Carver. So good.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I was put to jail in Scotland, for... disturbing the peace or something.
We were protesting against nuclear weapons in Faslane. I've also seen shit brew in Strasbourg, France in 2009.
I once rode a bike inside a zoo in Vietnam.
I watched a live feed of a ham being baked in the oven for a couple of hours while staying up a meager 26 or so hours, studying for finals. Hamcam they called it. For some reason I immensely enjoyed it, despite being a vegetarian.
I also do amazing things every day of my life (except Tuesdays). Come and see for yourself.
This one time I made pizza all by myself.
