About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy life to the fullest...and to avoid cliches. I'm halfway there.

ABOUT ME

These things are always so awkward to me. I'm optimistic, almost always smiling, esoteric, creative, adventerous, with a desire to be constantly learning and growing. I graduated at 16 and have been making it on my own ever since, more or less. I have a sense of humor that won't give it a rest, and I love trying new outdoor activities and crazy ethnic foods. Just as comfortable discussing anarcho-primitivist theory as I am dressing up and hitting the town as I am hiking up a mountain as i am kicking your ass at mortal kombat. I'm a pretty chill person that's really up for anything. No, really let's go.

PHILOSOPHY

"I'm down"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined, but I want to get more involved. I've decided to see as much of the world as I can, no more playing house!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet! Well, that's not true. I've slept on a lot of people's couches, I just didn't email about it first :)

Interests

SKYDIVING.
I'm very passionate about the arts. I love seeing museums, concerts, and plays where ever I go. Always down for seeing local music.
I am a park/picnic enthusiast. There is no better place to eat a meal then sitting on the grass in the sun.
I enjoy but am not very good at at kayaking, rock climbing, camping, hiking, tubing and sledding.
Haven't had the opportunity arise yet, but I'd love to try so many more crazy sports. I'm down for anything that requires a parachute or a helmet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly, I can dig anything with meaningful lyrics. I like all kinds of things from
Anything Fleetwood Mac ever did in any incarnation,
Modest Mouse(The Moon and Antarctica),
The Pixies(Wave of Mutilation)
The Smiths(The Queen is Dead),
Led Zepplin(Houses of the Holy)
*FUN FACT: Over the Hills and Far Away off of 'Houses of the Holy' is my all-time favorite song so far
The Who(Who's Next)
The Stones(Aftermath)
The Beatles(Sgt Pepper, not Mr. Kite)
CCR(Green River),
Kimya Dawson(Remember That I Love You)
Ani DeFranco(Not a Pretty Girl)
The Cardigans(First Band on the Moon),
Radiohead(The Bends)
Weezer(Pinkerton),
Scissor Sisters
Joy Division
Blood Brothers,
and it goes on and on

I love some movies more than some people love their children. Every time I go to list my favorites the list gets incredibly long, so I'm going to limit myself to ten(not necessarily my desert island top ten).
Cidade de Deus(City of God)
Reservoir Dogs
The Big Chill
Raising Arizona
Jurassic Park
Boogie Nights
Drop Dead Fred
The Shining
Network
Blade Runner and so many more that I want to ad but would hate to drone on.

Here are a few of my favorite authors. I am trying to read fifty books this year, and it's been nice to slow down and make time to read.
Cormac McCarthy, John Steinbeck, Chuck Palahniuk, Chuck Klosterman, Stephen King, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Stephen Colbert, Neil Gaiman, Michael Chabon, and once again so many more. I'll read or watch or listen to anything people suggest, so I find a lot of cool things all the time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd like to think that my most amazing things are yet to come, but jumping out of an airplane has been the best feeling so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to talk your ear off about anything involving theatre, dramatic literature, or any of the performing arts. I'm good with powertools, and can change a tire fairly quickly. And I read a lot.
I would like to learn anything you are willing to teach.
