About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Well I'm back from the Peace Corps, and now I've moved out West to Utah from Maryland. Needless to say I still have the travel bug. And I have the service bug. And combing both of those leads to a a bug that I can't rid myself of.
ABOUT ME
Young lady from Maryland, Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Cameroon, '11-'13), current AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, can't stay in one place for too long, athletic and competitive, a perfectionist, love learning about other people, always reading up and dreaming about new adventures, may possibly volunteer for the rest of my life- until I find a job with one of those organizations. Played college soccer. Run and exercise every day. Oh and I'm obsessed with chocolate- you wouldn't think it's important but, it's very important. Can be a bit of a loner by distancing (physically) myself from those I love, but still feel the need to experience the world with someone by my side.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite band is Led Zeppelin with Elvis coming in as a favorite artist. I kind of live in the past when it comes to music since I love a lot of the 60s and 70s rock. Love listening to retro soul music. But still into Alt-J, the Black Keys, Jack White, Edward Sharp, and Beirut. Could really get into anything. I may not make up raps, but I have a thing for learning the words to 90s rap songs and then spitting the rhymes.
Big into psychological thrillers, non-fiction, and any books or movies about: the Holocaust and Nazi Germany, Russian History, the AIDS crisis in the US, and the 60s. A big mix of interests there, but I've recently learn that all of those topics really captivate me. And I like futuristic books. Seriously, read Dr. Zhivago then jumped into the Hyperion Cantos...hmm weird.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in Cameroon for two years with the Peace Corps. Yep, I will be that person, but it was incredible. The things I saw and the people I met not to mention the languages I learned and the events and festivities I got to be a part of. Wow.
